Staff management, strategic planning, project co-ordination, advocacy and
lobbying, communications, article writing and editing, networking, website
management including devising a website (www.whycare.ie) to introduce teenagers
and young adults to social justice.
2004
– 2005: Project Worker, initially under the CSV Programme, ‘The Loft’, Focus
Ireland - working with young people who were homeless.
2006
(part time): Locum worker for Focus Ireland and the DePaul Trust.

housing project.
Duties for these roles included: individual
case management, one-to-one support and representative advocacy. Training
included Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
2004
(Summer): Summer Project Co-ordinator, Ozanam House Community Resource Centre
which involved design and management. 90 children and over 40 volunteers
participated.
2003
(July): Head Sailing Instructor Lough Ree Yacht Club.
Voluntary Work
- Member of the Shannon One Design Association Governing Body.
- Involved in the founding of Suas Education Development – participated
in inaugural programme to Calcutta.
- Outgoing Chair of the Belvedere College SJ Lourdes Society and a
former schools group co-ordinator for the Dublin Dioceses Pilgrimage to
Lourdes.
- Past member of the
Society of St. Vincent de Paul National Social and Justice Policy
Committee; former vice president of TCD conference.

Economics: Graduate Merit Award, and the Loch Exhibition Award, awarded by the
University of London to an outstanding student in the Department of Social
Policy.

medal for humanitarian work and a Guinness Living in Dublin award.

level, former Senior Sailing Instructor and a member of the Executive Committee
of Lough Ree Yacht Club. Also, a keen interest in attending provincial and
international rugby games and playing tag rugby.
